What I Found

It was a dark, cold night
as the snow was falling down
I pulled my jacket tight
as I stepped outside
and all I saw
and all I saw was white.

I was a lonely man
and the only one who knew
I had my own two hands
and a roof over my head
the winter's so
the winter's so long.

All the stars in the sky
fell down to the ground
and laid my eyes
on what I found.

It was a slight shadow
fair and familiar in the dark
but how did I know
what it should have meant to me
it called out loud
it called out loud my name.

And in the bright silence
we walked toward each other
And in my cold voidance
I didn't recognize myself
my lonely heart
my lonely heart awoke.
